I never thought i will grow old. Against all odds, I am. But my self-image is always a snap shot of me in my early twenties, even with every passing birthday each year. Lately, under the influence of my friends, i bought some skin care product. It is for my every increasing under eye lines. 

Ah, i realize, its time to face the reality. Women, especially are afraid of aging. Its only nature we react that way. Society values beauty & youth.  That makes women conscious of how they look. Therefore, the sprouting of skin care & cosmetic surgery. Women are trying every possible method to hold on to their youth & beauty. Sad? not sure?  Men are catching on this trend too. You can see a lot of botox man face around you these days.

Aging a bad thing for us?  Maybe, but not as part of the eco-system or society.

I bought some plant from the street and they had lived with me since I moved into my new home. This plant only grows in the water, and I have just the perfect place for them - in my office!   After a few months I brought them home, the bottom leaf starts to turn yellow and withering on me. I was so sad.  What did I do! Are they dying on me?  I almost gave up on them! Few days later, after I clipped off the withered leaf, brand new young leafs spring out from the top...the extension of the plant. So the cycle goes on, and my plant is growing strong and ever now and then, i have to get rid of the old ones down below.

Aging is nature's way of preserving itself. Have you thought of what would happen if there is no aging of the population in the wild.  If the animals in the forecast never grow old and die, there will not be enough food to feed everyone, enough space to hold them.  Youngsters will never be able to compete with their predecessors, since they do not have the same knowledge and experience as the ones come before them.  Same applies to human society. If people never grow old, earth population will explode, and no one will be able to survive, since we only have limited resources.  Human society will not be able to advance as well. The ones come first will be the dominate force and if they want to keep their place, they will resist any changes that may declare them obsolete.

Ha, see, its not that bad to get old, you are getting smarter as well. (Supposedly!)
